I have taken my dogs to Lobo Lodge Kennels for over 15 years. My two
current best friends, Digby and Daisy, love it there! The kennels are clean
and provide ample space and warm shelter. Digby especially loves the little
doggy door that leads from the pen to the attached individual outdoor run.
The grounds are beautiful. I know my dogs enjoy running around the
spacious fenced-in property at least three times each day. Most
importantly, I know Judy and Bill not only take excellent care of my
four-legged buddies, but they truly love them and give them individual
attention during their stay. It is well worth the drive from my home in Milford
to Lobo Lodge in Williamsburg to know my dogs are happy and well
cared-for while I am gone.

I have been going to Lobo Lodge Kennels since 1991, when I had a 3
month old puppy and was worried about the socialization he'd get while I
was gone for two weeks. I hated the thought of him being locked up in a
kennel with very little human contact for that long as such a young age. I
called half a dozen kennels who could have cared less about this. Then I
found Lobo Lodge Kennels and called them. The first thing Judy said upon
hearing my concerns was "Don't worry...we'll board him inside our house
with us and he'll get as much attention as he would have gotten at home
with you". That was all I needed to hear! They actually kept him in their own
house with them, and I came home to a very happy and social puppy!
Bill and Judy are two of the nicest people you will ever meet and I have all
the confidence in the world leaving my dogs at their kennel. The care and
attention given to them is amazing. I don't have to worry in the slightest
when I drop them off. It's a great feeling knowing you're leaving your dog
someplace that they LOVE being at! Both of my dogs know where we're
going as soon as we turn off of Rt. 32 and can barely contain themselves
when we turn down their street and get to the gate buzzer. It really is their
home away from home!
The only complaint my dogs ever have is the excruciatingly long (to them!)
60 seconds outside of the gate waiting impatiently for it to open!

The big thing is that our two labs love Lobo Lodge as much as we do.

We first met Bill and Judy Thompson in 1991 when we were looking to
board a special-needs dog. Our Rottweiler, Josh, was a miserably sick
rescue puppy who grew into a handsome but intimidating dog with a quirky
personality. To most of the world, he was at best indifferent and at worst
scary. To the select few he liked, which included us and our cat, his
veterinarian, and the Thompsons, he was a funny, playful, fiercely protective
lug. He loved Judy and she loved him, a fact which became most apparent
during his last summer, in 2000. He had not been himself, but we needed to
kennel him for a month. Two days into our trip, Judy called. "He's not right,"
she said. "?He needs to go to the vet. Shall I take him?" She brought him to
his regular vet and then to a specialist for an EKG.
The news was bad; Josh had a tumor in his heart, from which he died that
November. There is a framed photo of Josh with Judy on the wall at Lobo
Lodge, and we remain ever-appreciative of the care she gave him during
his final months.
We are now in the senior years of two dogs who are as enthusiastic as
Josh was wary. They get excited at the Lobo Lodge gate. When they are
there, I know they'll see sunlight. They've access to their runs all day, and
play in the yard morning and afternoon. Their food requirements and
medicines are handled accurately, with treats besides. They come home
happy and tired, not from the stress of being crated all day (as happens in
some kennels), but from having a good time. If it isn't quite sleeping at
home on their own beds, it's the very next thing. Clearly, Bill and Judy are in
the business because they care about the dogs.
Lobo Lodge Kennels has been our boarding facility for over 20 years. Our
Dalmatians love "Aunt Judy" and "Uncle Bill". We never worry about the
excellent care our dogs received. They love running around the 7
manicured acres several times a day when they are boarded. We drive 100
miles to board our pets here!
At this busy, holiday season; Shirley & I wish to thank you for the years of
care you have given our four legged members of our family.
Lobo Lodge is a home away from home. We have been going to Lobo
Lodge for close to 15 years. Katie our dog was a Jack Russell Terrier and
she had an attitude. She only liked certain people and luckily she and Judy
Thompson became good friends. Judy was like her second mother. We
would tell Katie she was going to Aunt Judy's and she would get so excited
about going and staying and seeing other dogs in the kennel. I think she
actually thought she was on vacation too!
The kennel was always fresh and clean from the inside out. We always had
complete trust in Judy and Bill and would leave Katie with assurance she
would be well taken care of.
Judy has that love and care for animals that shows in everything she does
for them. Katie had to take meds which were given and she was also given
baths and nails which was a thankful service to us since she disliked both
We highly recommend Lobo Lodge for your dogs as they will be treated as
if they were at home.

Judy and Bill are two of our favorite people. For the last 14 years they have
been caring for our two dogs and recently our two cats. We feel so secure
in leaving our animals at Lobo Lodge. When we leave them, our animals
become their animals. Their personal concern continues twenty four hours
each day. Our animals are always excited about " summer camp" at Judy
and Bill's They love it there! If we desire, they will bathe and do nails.
Security, safety and satisfaction are always their prime concern at Lobo

I just wanted to share my experience with everyone! I have used several
kennels for my Toy Aussie, Spirit. I found a Lobo Lodge Kennels brochure
at my vet's office and thought I would check them out. I went to the kennel,
which was only 3 1/2 miles from my home, to find the most beautiful place I
have seen. It's off the main highway by about 1 1/2 miles in a wooded
setting and has an electric fence that you have to buzz to enter with your
car. The area is totally fenced in and very secure. It is small enough that
Judy and Bill are one-on-one with your pet. It is the cleanest kennel I have
ever been in. There is no odor whatsoever. Spotless!!!!
My dog is very spoiled and I always worry that he won't get the attention he
is used to at home. But when I went to pick him up after 5 days, I have never
seen him happier to be in a kennel. He just loved Judy....He is very shy and
scared around other people, usually. He looked as though he lived there! I
just want everyone looking for the perfect kennel to give them a try - you
won't be sorry!!
